Re-invention of Genesis' hits for classical market

Further to the international success of The Queen Symphony with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Tolga Kashif has documented the full range of the Genesis songbook in a brand new, accessible sound-world. The album has been in the making for nearly 12 months and will be released in September 2010 through Kashif's new label, Lightsong. The world premiere will be in London and an international tour will commence in the UK from January 2011.

Tolga Kashif stated: "I have looked to weave the material into the orchestral medium whilst remaining faithful to the essence of the original songs. The richness of the Genesis catalogue is a gift to a composer. This has taken me on an unexpected journey and to have the privilege of sharing this great music with the classical audience is an honour."

Listeners will be given an insight into the creation of this project through the use of social networking, live blogging and video content. Further to this, contemporary artists will be invited to create cutting edge re-mixes of some of these titles, engaging new audiences.
